It is one the countries which has one of the biggest film production worldwide, every year it produces a great volume of premieres of diverse genres, this fact is due to the multiplicity of regional languages as well as to its enormous home market. Recent studies have shown that this country has the population that goes most often to the movies; this fact is favored by the low cost of movie tickets. Recently the Indian cinema has extended to other countries.

  • Bollywood.- Its name was coined in the 1970; it comes from the words Bombay (the old name of Mumbay) and Hollywood. Currently it experiences a growing interest of the market of United States and Latin America. One feature of the movies of this industry is its musical scenes which combine songs and typical dances with curious choreographies of western pop music. The group formed by Bollywood and filmings in other languages like Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam constitute the core of this film industry.
