The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT), listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency, accredit Platt College San Diego. The primary purpose of ACCSCT and other accrediting agencies is to establish and maintain high educational standards and ethical business practices among its accredited institutions.
Platt College San Diego and its educational programs are approved by the Bureau of Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education (an office of the State of California, Department of Commerce) and the U.S. Department of Education.
The Specialized Digital Video Production Diploma prepares students with basic knowledge of film and video principles, such as composition, lighting, sound design, and editing. In addition, this program covers a full suite of video production offerings including cinematography, screenwriting fundamentals, motion graphics, special effects, as well as direction and production planning. Technical issues such as frame rates, compression, and film-to-video transfers are other important skills learned in this program.
Students complete a number of in-class projects involving editing techniques, special effects, color correction, text animation, green screen photography as well as production planning and budgeting. Students are responsible for creating original source footage items throughout this program.
Upon completion of this video production program students will be prepared for entry-level positions such as video editors, motion graphics artists or digital compositors.
