La Salle University, dedicated in the traditions of the Christian Brothers to excellence in teaching and to concern for both ultimate values and for the individual values of its students, is a private Roman Catholic University committed to providing a liberal education of both general and specialized studies.
The department of Communication is guided by Lasallian values, which serve as a basis for our decisions, and provide the framework for the erhical and behavioral values we strive to model for our students.
The liberal arts focus of our curriculum provides a powerful combination of communication theory and ethics, critical analysis, and hands-on experience. Our students focus their studies in one of four areas: Communication Management, Journalism. Mass Communication, or Public Relations.
Our classes are small and lively, and our faculty members take pride in being accessible to students. Some of the best learning takes place outside the classroom--in offices, hallways, and production studios.
Speaking of studios, we use our production suites as classrooms, too. Here one will find the latest equipment. From TVs and VCRs in every classroom to digital editing systems, La Salle gives students the chance to gain valuable production experience as early as their freshman year.
