In the 21st century, sight and sound are the most effective expressions of language. Turkey's ever-changing and progressive television and cinema fields will welcome the well-equipped, experienced young communications specialists who will have an important role in shaping Turkish society. In the Department of Film and Television, education is both theoretical and practical. While some of the theoretical courses are in the history of film, film theories, media-culture-society, and visual language, the practical courses include directing for film and TV, cinematography, scriptwriting, documentary, digital film and television technologies, film production projects and many others.

To offer students the skills and experience paramount in these fields, workshops and seminars are given by directors, producers and other specialists willing to share their knowledge. The Department of Film and Television owns a video studio with professional editing suites.
The graduates of the Department of Film and Television may have opportunities to work as cinematographers, scriptwriters, editors, executive program producers, digital media video artists, cinema critics, film agents, TV programmers, video clip and commercial film producers, and directors.
