Saint Joseph's University (Department of Fine and Performing Arts, Film Studies)

Founded in Philadelphia by the Society of Jesus in 1851, Saint Joseph's University is home to 3,500 full-time undergraduates and 3,000 graduate, executive and non-traditional students.

One of just 142 schools nationwide with a Phi Beta Kappa chapter and AACSB business school accreditation, Saint Joseph's challenges its students to exceed their highest ambitions, fosters the mature development of values and deepens a desire to help shape the world.

The Jesuit tradition of cura personalis -- care for the entire person -- is reflected in the university's rigorous academic experience; energetic, compassionate and spiritual campus; and focus on the common good.

Academic programs at Saint Joseph's University are distinguished by a rigorous blend of the contemporary and the classical, inspired by the Jesuit tradition of serious inquiry stretching back over five centuries. Return to this site often for new and exciting information on undergraduate programs, graduate studies and executive education, as well as other essential links to the dynamic academic experience that is SJU.

Through our curriculum and programs in the visual arts, music, and theatre, we address our two primary objectives: to help our students to discover their personal creative potential and to help them develop an awareness of lasting cultural traditions.
