Ankara University (Department Of Radio Television and Film)

The first in university level media education in Turkey, Faculty of Communication was founded as the School of Journalism and Broadcasting in 1965, in corporation with UNESCO and the Association of Journalists. The school has been considered as a source of qualified journalists and producers. Regarding the huge increase in mass media in Turkey, the school has been restructured as a faculty in 1992.

There are 983 students currently enrolled at the faculty and some 150 graduate each year. The academic staff of 61 has diverse research interest dealing with different interests of the media. Having pioneered the studies in the field in Turkey, the faculty has also proved to be a resource of academics for other schools through its master’s degree and PhD programs. The faculty houses the departments of Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising, and Radio Television and Film.

This program concentrates on the theoretical and critical study of broadcasting and film as well as the production side. Students make use of the audio and video studies and have won several awards.
