Capilano College (Film Centre)




Capilano College provides a solid academic foundation and is committed to developing new and innovative programs in response to market demand. It offers a complete range of preparatory courses, university transfer courses, business and management studies, creative and applied arts programs, health and human services programs, plus a range of services in support of student learning and success. Credentials awarded include bachelor degrees, associate degrees, post-baccalaureate diplomas, advanced diplomas, diplomas, certificates and statements of completion. At Capilano College, students are comfortable, challenged, and find the individual attention that can make a difference to their achievements.

The Capilano College Film Centre offers a wide range of full-time programs that prepare students for a variety of career paths in the film production industry. The largest of these, the Motion Picture Production Program, now offers 2nd and 3rd-year programs - designed specifically for emerging, entrepreneurial filmmakers. The Costuming for Stage and Screen Program and the Cinematography Program also both have 2nd year programs in development.

For those seeking entry-level craft training for the film business, the Film Centre also offers courses in Lighting, Grip, and Set Dressing.
