Las Vegas School of Film

The Boot Camp 101 is designed to have students make one entire short film from concept to finish. This 6 week beginner's course is a rigorous study into everything that goes into making a film: Preproduction to Post Production. We believe that it is vital for our students to make a real movie in order for them to achieve a solid foundation for industry standards, hence, "learn by doing."
The first two weeks are pre-production. Classes consist of: concept/design, script writing, producing, budgeting, location scouting, shot list/story boarding, and talent scouting .
The second two weeks are production and shooting a short film. Classes consist of: directing, cinematography, lighting (grip), sound, script supervising, prop mastering, and set design .
The third two weeks are post-production . Classes consist of: logging, video/sound editing, foley, special effects, sound mixing, dubbing, marketing, and promoting to festivals . (We will be starting up a film festival to help students promote their films in the Las Vegas Independent Scene.)
Once students have completed the Boot Camp, if they wish to study further in a previous department they have learned with us, we have a continued education option with a more in-depth study of these courses. Examples of classes that will be included are television pilots, feature film, documentary, etc.
