Plymouth College Of Art & Design

Plymouth College of Art and Design (PCAD) was originally founded as an Art School in the 19th Century. The College is one of the few remaining specialist colleges of art and design in the country and we are very proud of our excellent reputation in visual arts, design, crafts and media for both further and higher education.

The College provides a special kind of environment through a concentrated community of artists, designers and makers. Digital and media technologies sit alongside traditional methods and skills which influence, inform and stimulate student creativity and exploration. As a student you will experience a friendly, supportive and challenging College; an Art College where tutors feel passionately that each student should discover their creative potential and where hard work leads to success.

You will explore the creative world of the moving image developing skills on planning, producing and editing your own genre of work.

The course will include practical skills which cover lighting, editing, camera work, visualisation and sound skills. These practical applications are enhanced over the two years by an understanding of the theory behind the practice. Your ability to plan and analyse will be developed enabling you to fully exploit your creative potential in this exciting area.

The programme is diverse enabling opportunities to work closely with other appropriate art, design and
media disciplines.
