The UK's Northern Film School, bring an established and dedicated team of staff with wide ranging experience in all aspects of filmmaking to support students. The Skillset accredited MA in Screenwriting has a proven track record in supporting writing for all modes of production.

Performing arts provision is an exciting new area for the University, the work in the School builds on the national reputation of the Leeds Met Studio Theatre in supporting innovative contemporary performance works.

A full programme of production practice, based on professional standards, forms the centre of learning. Students are encouraged to develop and realise their own projects, through a 'hands-on' approach, working in teams on short fiction and documentary films, live action, animation and image manipulation projects, on both video and 16mm film.

Students work in a supportive educational environment in which they are encouraged to develop the intellectual, critical and practical skills relevant to moving image production. These skills are realised and demonstrated through a series of collaborative projects, supported and underpinned by critical and reflective study.

The Playwork team bring expertise in work with children across therapeutic, creative and developmental settings. This offers a unique dynamic to the courses in the School where the potential for collaboration across the fields of play, film making and performance expression meet
