Our courses combine creative work using state-of-the-art technology, with the development of critical and analytical skills. Kept up-to-date by committed staff who collaborate with industry and conduct high-level academic research, our courses are constantly evolving. In addition to our portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate taught degrees, we also offer a thriving postgraduate research culture with supervision for the research degrees of M Phil and PhD.

A thriving centre of media theory and practice, our Media department offers training in such areas as photography, television, radio, film, advertising, public relations and journalism, supporting students' practical experience with a theoretical and critical understanding of their speciality.

Our teaching staff combine academic excellence with an in-depth knowledge and familiarity of the media industry itself.

Many graduates of our media stream, now enjoy rewarding and successful career opportunities in the industry. Our alumni are employed in organisations such as the BBC, Channel 4, The Daily Mirror, Harper Collins and Transworld Publishing and Saatchi and Saatchi.
