Creating different effects at the moment of planning stages is the main responsibility of a director and in some cases of the directory of photography who needs illustrate the flow of shots that best show the story. An establishing shot show to the audience where the action is taking place and is commonly the first shot of a new scene. A shot could be a very wide or an extreme. A wide shot covers the whole room or background.
The role of the establishing shot is an additional function that helps viewer to orient in the narrative chain, because they bring visual effects to prepare the viewer know where we are.
